Pet Free Homes for Billet Students Global Partners

Female Japanese high school students will be coming to Prince Albert to improve their oral English skills and to learn about Canadian cultures. On weekdays they will attend classes at St. Mary High School.

Students will arrive on March 21 and leave on April 3, 2019
Host Families are required to:
• Provide a bedroom
• Provide for three meals a day
• Include the student as a family member
• Engage in conversation as much as reasonably possible
• Speak only English when the student is in the home
• Arrange for the student to get to and from St. Mary HS on school days
• Have two or more related people living in the home at the time of hosting

Global Partners provides:
• Host family orientation
• 24 / 7 support
• Regular communication about the program
• An honorarium for hosting

Criteria for Canadian Students
• Above average marks
• Mature, globally minded, and socially/culturally adaptable
• 15 to 17 years old
• North American school must accept a Japanese student tuition free
• Eager to improve Japanese language and learn about Japanese
• Students who wish to study abroad for 10 months are required to have at least one year of Japanese language studies prior to
• Students on the 3 program do not need formal Japanese training, but are required to study the language prior to departure
